CLOSED MEETING OF CAUCASIAN FOUR PARLIAMENT LEADERS HELD IN KISLOVODSK RUSSIAN CITY

PanARMENIAN.Net - A closed meeting of the Caucasian four parliament leaders - chairman of the Council of Federation of Russia Sergey Mironov, speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Armen Khachatrian, leader of the Georgian parliament Nino Burjanadze and chairman of Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan Murtuz Aleskerov - is being held in Russian Kislovodsk city. As noted by speaker of the upper chamber of the Russian parliament, Russian media report, there is an agreement to hold such meetings once in every three months. The today's meeting is already the third one. It discusses regional problems including urgent issues of Russia's relations with the South Caucasian republics, Sergey Mironov reported. In his words, the meeting participants are ready to rather frank discussions, which is especially important when considering delicate issues, like the Russian-Georgian or Armenian-Azeri relations getting complicated at times. S.Mironov considers "the establishment of confidential relations" between the heads of the Russian, Armenian, Azeri and Georgian parliaments as a practical outcome of the meetings of the Caucasian four. "In case a conflict situation appears to be formed we can exchange information efficiently, which has served to pacifying the parliaments of our countries many times," - chairman of the Council of Federation of Russia noted.
