Under Article 34-305 of Armenia’s Criminal Code, a charge has been brought against former presidential candidate Vardan Sedrakyan for ordering Jan 31 assassination attempt on National Self-Determination Union party chairman Paruyr Hayrikyan. The National Security Service (NSS) issued an address to the court with a demand to arrest Sedrakyan. Court of General Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts responded to the claim, arresting Sedrakyan for two months. Investigation is underway.
