Discussions of Sedrakyan case appeal due March 18

PanARMENIAN.Net - A charge was brought against former presidential candidate Vardan Sedrakyan for ordering Paruyr Hayrikyan shooting.

The discussion of the appeal against the imprisonment of the former presidential candidate, literature expert Vardan Sedrakyan is scheduled for March 18 in the Court of Appeal, lawyer Alexander Sirunyan posted on his Facebook page.

Under Article 34-305 of Armenia’s Criminal Code, a charge was brought against former presidential candidate Vardan Sedrakyan for ordering the Jan 31 assassination attempt on National Self-Determination Union party chairman Paruyr Hayrikyan.

The National Security Service (NSS) issued an address to the court with a demand to arrest Sedrakyan. Court of General Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts responded to the claim, arresting Sedrakyan for two months. Investigation is underway.
