Shahgeldyan: Number of People Ready to Say "Yes" to Constitution Amendments IncreasedNovember 14, 2005 - 17:49 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - During past weeks public interest in Armenia towards the draft constitutional changes, as well as the number of people ready to say "Yes" to the constitutional amendments increased abruptly, stated Chief of the Coordination Council for arranging the referendum, Chair of the Parliamentary Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs Committee Mher Shahgeldyan during a meeting with journalists. At that Mher Shahgeldyan did not name the expected number of electors to vote for the reform of the Constitution of Armenia. In his words, sociological services can provide that type of forecast after corresponding surveys. As Mr. Shahgeldyan remarked, the informing of the country population on the essence of constitutional reforms turns to active propaganda. It should be noted that the Coordination Council for arranging the referendum on making amendments to the Constitution of Armenia is formed by a decision of the Armenian President October 13. The Council includes representatives of 23 parties of ruling coalition and other political forces that concern the reform.
