The Alekhine Memorial will be a 10-player single round robin tournament held jointly in the Louvre in Paris and the Russian State Museum in St.Petersburg between 21 April - 1 May. The choice of shared venue is apposite, since Alekhine was based in Paris during the most productive time of his chess career, and won his first major Russian tournament, the All-Russian Masters Tournament in St.Petersburg in 1914. The line-up is headed by the world champion Vishy Anand, world #2 Vladimir Kramnik, and world #3 Levon Aronian.
