UEFA match delegate candidates attend Nyon workshop

PanARMENIAN.Net - UEFA match delegate candidates from 41 national associations have set out on what they hope will be a successful career at a workshop at the House of European Football in Nyon.

Potential UEFA match delegates have attended a training workshop at the House of European Football in Nyon.

Sixty-four UEFA candidates from 41 national associations came to Switzerland for the starting point of what they hope will be a new career as a UEFA match delegate. Discussions centred on all aspects of match organization which have an impact on UEFA delegates' activities – topics included the role and attitude expected, cooperation with other UEFA match officers and referees, as well as stadium, medical, disciplinary and security matters. Various speakers took the floor to explain in detail what is expected from UEFA match delegates in their specific area of responsibility.

The new UEFA delegate candidates will have to successfully complete two training missions on-site in UEFA competitions before being confirmed as a UEFA match delegate. If the 64 new delegates are all confirmed, a pool of 294 UEFA match delegates in total will be available for assignments in UEFA competition for the next two seasons.

Delegates are appointed to every match organized by UEFA. They are the highest UEFA authority on site – and the "eyes and ears" of the European governing body. UEFA disciplinary actions are taken on the basis of match delegates' reports, UEFA official website reported.
