Mironov: Yerevan and Moscow to Achieve Mutually Admissible Agreement on Gas Price

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia and Russia will achieve a mutually admissible agreement on the price for Russian gas imported to Armenia, Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federal Assembly Sergey Mironov told journalists today. In his words, the current price does not cover the gas production cost and expenses Russia runs up.

"We think this price should be reconsidered. But the final decision should be taken either by the Prime Ministers or Presidents," Mironov said. He noted that Gazprom set a price of $160 for 1000 cubic meter of gas for Ukraine. "I do not think the price for Armenia will be the same", he noted. When commenting on Georgia's intention to raise the price for the transit of Russian gas to Armenia the Federation Council head noted there is a market and grounded economic calculations. When politics mixes with economy, the latter always suffers, Sergey Mironov stated.
