Baghdassaryan: Any Conflict Should Be Settled on Basis of Concessions

PanARMENIAN.Net - Creation of the atmosphere of trust between the conflicting parties is essential for the settlement of the conflicts available in the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSECO) region, Armenian National Assembly Speaker Artur Baghdassaryan stated during the second regional conference of NGOs held in Yerevan December 17. In his words, meetings of various public institutes at different levels are essential for the settlement of the conflicts. "Taking into account the globalization processes any conflict should be settled on the basis of concessions," the Armenian parliament head noted. Artur Baghdassaryan attached special attention to the formation of civic society and human rights defense. "Armenia presides in the BSECO Parliamentary Assembly and highlights conduction of such events in Yerevan," he said adding that the BSECO PA sitting will be held in Yerevan in June 2006.

Representative of "Economy 2000" Bulgarian club Pobeda Lukanova noted that transborder cooperation could promote the settlement of the conflicts. "Such cooperation between Romania, Serbia, Macedonia, Greece and Turkey has already yielded fruit. This method can be applied in the Caucasus as well," Lukanova said, IA Regnum reported.
