Moscow Protests Against Inauguration of Monument to Heydar AliyevDecember 19, 2005 - 13:11 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A protest action against the inauguration of a monument to former Azerbaijani President Heydar Aliyev organized by the Movement against Illegal Immigration was held in Moscow December 18. About 400 young people mostly dressed in camouflages and masks gathered in a park in the northwest district of the Russian capital. The protesters were holding Russian flags and shouting out slogans like "Azeris, keep your idols in your villages", "Away with corrupt officials", "Moscow is our city." To remind, the monument to Heydar Aliyev was supposed to be erected in a park adjacent to Baku cinema till the end of the current year as a gift of the Azerbaijani Embassy to Moscow.
