Azeri Deputy FM: Serious Ground Necessary for Kocharian-Aliyev Meeting

PanARMENIAN.Net - Official Baku seriously discusses the question of the meeting of the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan at the end of January - beginning of February 2006, Azeri Deputy FM Araz Azimov stated yesterday. "Before the meeting of the Presidents talks between the FMs of the two countries may be held the previous day, however it is early to speak of certain terms and venue of the meeting," he remarked. "The meeting of the Presidents should not be done for effect: serious grounds and agenda are necessary for the talks between the two state leaders," Azimov added. When commenting on the optimistic mood of the OSCE Minsk Group, the Azeri Deputy FM said in his opinion there is an opportunity for settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict in 2006 and the parties should use it. He said, "Azerbaijan can take into account certain concerns of the Armenian party and is ready to discuss that issue provided that Yerevan will display a similar constructive approach."
