Armenian MP requests Central Bank to freeze farmers’ credits

PanARMENIAN.Net - An independent MP Edmon Manukyan issued a letter to the chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia Artur Javadyan requesting to freeze farmers’ credits giving them time to recover from harvest losses.

As the MP noted, he’s been addressed by the residents of Armavir and Aragatsotn provinces whose crops have been damaged over a strong hail.

“Having lost the harvest and without alternative income these people have found themselves in a deadlock. With most of them having taken loans from banks, they now have no means to take care of their families, to say nothing of covering the credits. Many are considering leaving Armenia to search jobs abroad,” the letter said.
