Bomb found under police gun in Dagestan![]() June 9, 2013 - 16:46 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Police have found a bomb under a police car in the town of Buinaksk in Russia’s volatile North Caucasus republic of Dagestan, the republican Interior Ministry said on Sunday, June 9, RIA Novosti said. “An explosive device has been found under a police car. Specialists with bomb sniffing dogs arrived at the scene. The dogs confirmed the bomb presence,” the ministry said. Work is underway to neutralize the bomb, the ministry said. The Islamist insurgency, once confined largely to the republic of Chechnya, has spread across the North Caucasus in recent years. Attacks on security forces, police and civilians are reported regularly in the neighbouring republics of Dagestan, Ingushetia and Kabardino-Balkaria. Over a decade after the war against Islamist separatists in Chechnya ended, Russian security forces and police continue to fight militants in the volatile region. ![]() ![]() Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert.
