As Tigran Jrbashyan stated during a presentation of a research on the development of industrial agriculture in Armenia, “out of 40 CIS and Eastern European states, Armenia is a leader for a GDP share in agriculture (19-21%). However, significant problems were noted in he productivity line.” In this context, he noted the industrial agriculture as a prospective sector in boosting productivity and competitiveness to allow entry into foreign market. The research conducted by America consulting company covers the sector of industrial agriculture including hothouse market-gardening, horticulture and fish breeding. In conclusion, Jrbashyan urged the government to assist in creation of favorable conditions for development of the sector.
