In his words, the EU plays an important role in the implementation of the European Neighborhood Policy, energy projects and conflict settlement in the South Caucasus. For his part Mr. Semneby noted this is his first visit to the region at the post of the EU Special Representative. In his words, the EU's interest in the South Caucasus is growing.
