Abrahamyan: Armenian Diaspora Cannot Do without Uniting Efforts

PanARMENIAN.Net - A need to create an organization structure that will coordinate joint efforts of the Diaspora and the Republic of Armenia, determine national goals, President of the Union of Armenians of Russia (UAR) and the World Armenian Congress (WAC) Ara Abrahamyan stated during the Armenia-Diaspora Third All-Armenian Forum. In his words, the need for working out a national program to determine internal and foreign policy priorities matured long ago.

"No matter how strong Diaspora individual communities or organizations are, it is impossible to ensure effective organizational and political unity of Armenians of the world without active work of the Republic of Armenia. I would like to suggest Armenian authorities and Diaspora representatives to create necessary organizational structures and start working out a national program with participation of experts from the Diaspora and Armenia also involving experts from respective international structures if necessary. Simultaneous to that, we could set about creation of an institutional mechanism to implement that national program," Abrahamyan underscored.

"I am sure that each community, each Armenian, no matter where he lives, will thus have an opportunity to take part in solution of the tasks our historical Fatherland and the Armenian community worldwide have," he summed up.
