One-of-a-kind Armenian-Georgian school to open in Tbilisi

PanARMENIAN.Net - A new Armenian-Georgian school will open in Tbilisi’s Metromshen district to offer education to 1,000 pupils, according to Georgia’s Ministry of Education and Science.

As Tert.am reports citing Sputnik-georgia.ru, Minister Tamar Sanikidze has visited the school’s construction site to get familiarized with the activities under way. “School No 103 is one of our major projects; moreover, no similar schools have ever been built before,” she was quoted as saying.

Highlighting the importance of the “mixed school” project, the minister said they have thus attempted to create a Georgian school with a major Armenian-language department.

“We wish to offer maximum help to the ethnic minorities to enable them to fully integrate into the educational process,” she added.

The school will be equipped with the state-of-the-art facilities, gyms, a library, a special room for life sciences and a cafeteria. The educational institution will be adjusted to the needs of pupils with limited abilities.

The total cost of the project is 5.5 million Laris (over $11,000). The development began earlier this year and is expected to finish next year.
