M5.9 earthquake hits Azerbaijan: tremors felt in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - A M5.9 earthquake hit Azerbaijan’s north-western areas near Sheki district, Azerbaijani media reports.

The earthquake was recorded Sept.4, at 09:49:36 (UTC/GMT +5 hours), 29 kilometers southeast of Sheki, according to a statement on the website of the Republican Seismological Survey Center of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.

According to the Armenia's Ministry of Territorial Integration and Emergency Situations, tremors were felt in several Armenian cities, including Vanadzor (2-3 points), Stepanavan and Kapan (3 points), Ijevan and Noyemberyan (4 points), Yerevan (3-4 points).
