Armenia climbs 3 points in Global Competitiveness indexSeptember 30, 2015 - 16:18 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia has improved its position on the World Economic Forum’s latest Global Competitiveness report by three points, to rank 82nd among 140 countries, chairman of the research center Economy and Values said. “Armenia’s position according to all competitiveness assessment criteria does not differ significantly from those of other countries with a similar level of development, except for the market size due to objective reasons,” Manuk Hergnyan said. A top country on the index is Switzerland which maintains the leader’s status for the seventh year running. Singapore and the United States come next. Armenia’s neighbors, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Iran, rank 66th, 40th, 51st and 74th, respectively. The Global Competitiveness Report 2015-2016 assesses the competitiveness landscape of 140 economies, providing insight into the drivers of their productivity and prosperity.
