Eiffel Tower closed indefinitely following Paris terror attacks

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Eiffel Tower will be closed indefinitely following the wave of deadly attacks in Paris, the iconic landmark's operator said on Saturday, November 14, AFP reports.

The company decided to close the monument -- normally visited by up to 20,000 people a day -- after Friday's attacks which claimed at least 128 lives, a spokeswoman told AFP. It will remain closed "until further notice," she added.

Meanwhile prominent buildings around the world changed colour in tribute to the victims of the Paris attacks.

The spire of the One World Trade Centre was illuminated in red, white and blue on Friday night, and governor Andrew Cuomo said it would remain so in the coming days.

Sydney Opera House, San Francisco City Hall, the Auckland Sky Tower, Wembley Stadium and, in Rio de Janeiro, Christ the Redeemer were also lit up.
