OSCE PLANS TO REALIZE POPULATION SOCIAL-ECONOMIC INTEGRATION PROGRAMS IN GEORGIAN SAMTSHKE-JAVAKHETIA REGION

PanARMENIAN.Net - OSCE plans to realize a number of programs aiming at promoting of political, economic and language integration of the population of the Samtskhe-Javakhetia region. These programs have been discussed at the conference under the aegis of UNO and OSCE, dedicated to the issues of development of Samtskhe-Javakhetia region. In particular, the programs stipulate broadcasting of "Rustavi-2" news programs in Armenian and availability of Armenian radio, as well as Georgian courses for the Armenian population. OSCE High Commissioner for minority groups Rolf Eceus participates in the conference. At his meeting with journalists he noted, Javahketia region is quite isolated from Georgia in both language and social-economic aspects.
