On December 18 a Lecture on Armenian Genocide Will be Organized in AmsterdamDecember 14, 2006 - 13:30 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On December 18 a lecture on "The Armenian Genocide: the facts in the Turkish archives" will take place, organized by CREA-Studium Generale in cooperation with Humanist Broadcasting and Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies. Taner Akçam, a visiting Professor on History from University of Minnesota, will have a speech during the lecture. He is convinced that Turkey must straighten out with her black past and recognize the Armenian Genocide of 1915 committed by the Turkish government. Co-referent Erik-Jan Zürcher, a professor of Turkish languages and culturesFrom University of Leiden also will have a report on the subject. Prior to the lecture the documentary "A wall of silence, a taboo about the destiny of the Armenians" (Humanist Broadcasting, 1997, 54 minutes) will be shown.
