Germany to make Karabakh conflict settlement a priority: envoy

PanARMENIAN.Net - Germany will make Karabakh conflict settlement a priority during its OSCE chairmanship, German ambassador to Azerbaijan told reporters Monday, January 11, Russian media report.

“Peace and security will be a key priority for Germany in settling ongoing conflicts which are considered to be frozen. Among them is the conflict your country is involved in too,” Heidrun Tempel said.

Also, the ambassador stressed that German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier will in the coming days announce the country’s priorities during the OSCE chairmanship.

Germany has assumed Chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) for 2016, defining “renewing dialogue, rebuilding trust, restoring security” as its top priorities.
