VivaCell-MTS helps rebuild houses in Armenia’s border villagesJanuary 20, 2016 - 11:40 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - In the framework of a housing project, VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian and the President of Fuller Center for Housing Armenia Ashot Yeghiazaryan visited the Hovhannisyan family in the village of Bagravan, Armenia’s Shirak province. The Hovhannisyans moved to Bagravan 40 years ago from the border village of Kharkov. They bought a three-room house without basic living conditions, which they failed to renovate. 23 years ago they only managed to replace the roof, also deteriorated in the course of time. “This program is a real salvation for our family,” said Grigor, the family father. “We did not even have bedrooms in the house, let alone a kitchen or a bathroom. Now everything is changed: we have a decent home. With both of my sons now married, our dream has come true.” “This program aims to boost our compatriots’ belief that they should overcome despair to find solutions to their problems,” Yirikian said. “The more persistent they are, the sooner they will achieve desirable results.” 40 families from various Armenian provinces started the New Year with joy and new hopes in their new or renovated homes. VivaCell-MTS invested AMD100 million (AMD55 million in 2014) in the project in 2015, with Fuller Center for Housing Armenia implementing it. Through this partnership, the number of the families having their houses renovated or reconstructed has reached 93 since 2007.
