U.S. Air Force awards $975mln contract in counter-narcotics move

PanARMENIAN.Net - The U.S. Air Force has awarded a $975 million contract to 15 companies including Honeywell, Raytheon and others to provide counter-narcotics support, UPI reports.

The contractors are tasked with providing equipment, material, minor construction and other services to help improve the United States and partner countries' capabilities in combating threats "posed by illegal drugs, trafficking, piracy, transnational organized crime, threat finance networks, and any potential nexus among these activities."

Other companies on the contract include Atlantic Diving Supply, CACI, DynCorp International and Global Threat Reduction.

Work on the contract will be performed throughout the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii, as well as outside the United States, and is expected to be complete by January 2025.
