Saudi Arabia launches massive drills with troops from 20 nations![]() February 15, 2016 - 14:46 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Saudi Arabia has launched a massive military operation that will include troops from 20 nations, CNN reported. The operation, dubbed North Thunder, comprises Arab and Muslim countries. The state media did not provide much information on what it entails; however, the operation is described as "the largest in the region's history." In addition to Saudi Arabia, nations involved are Jordan, Bahrain, Senegal, Oman, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Sudan, Kuwait, the Maldives, Morocco, Pakistan, Chad, Tunisia, Comoros Islands, Djibouti, Malaysia, Egypt, Mauritania and Mauritius. The "North Thunder drills represent a clear message that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its brothers and friends of the participating countries stand united to confront all challenges and maintain peace and stability in the region." The announcement comes two months after Saudi Arabia said it will form a coalition of 34 nations to fight terrorism.
