Kosovo and Karabakh Conflict At The Center of Attention of PACE Session

PanARMENIAN.Net - One of the main issues of the agenda of PACE (Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe), which will be held in Strasbourg from January 22 till 26 2007, are debates over the current situation in Kosovo with the presence of UN Secretary General Special Envoy on Kosovo's future status Marti Ahtisaari.



The agenda also includes monitoring reports on Albania and Armenia. Parliamentarians have requested to hold immediate debates over the following issues: "Threats for life and freedom of journalists", "Current tension in relations of Russia and Georgia".



During the January 25 session a joint meeting is scheduled between Armenian and Azeri parliamentary delegations for discussing PACE resolution 1416 (2005) "On the conflict in the Nagorno Karabakh region, with the settlement of which deals OSCE Minsk Group."
