At least 33 killed, over 200 injured in Karabakh conflict zone, UN says

PanARMENIAN.Net - At least 33 were killed, over 200 injured in the escalation along the line of contact in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict zone, UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said in a report.

“Official sources from Armenia and Azerbaijan state that at least 30 soldiers and 3 civilians have died as a result of the fighting,” the report said. “The number of those injured, both civilian and military, is yet to be confirmed by official sources. Unofficial sources estimated this number to be more than 200.”

According to OCHA, the number of people living in villages affected by fighting stands at 14,4 thousand.

There have been no reports of population movement in the conflict-affected areas nor are there indications of immediate humanitarian needs, OCHA said.
