Azerbaijan planning to hold constitutional referendum

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijan plans to hold a referendum on constitutional amendments this year, deputy executive secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party, MP Siyavush Novruzov said, according to News.az.

He made the remarks during a meeting with the media at the party’s headquarters, APA reports.

On July 18, Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on submitting the draft Referendum Act on making amendments to Constitution to the country's top court.

Novruzov said that the president’s proposal is currently being considered by the Constitutional Court.
