Sasna Tsrer member to undergo second surgery in Yerevan

PanARMENIAN.Net - Pavlik Manukyan, a member of an armed group that seized a police department in Yerevan in mid-July, was taken to Erebuni medical center from the Hospital of Convicts on Thursday, September 8.

An armed group known as Sasna Tsrer (Daredevils of Sassoun) stormed a Yerevan police patrol department in mid-July and took everyone inside hostage. Throughout the following days, the group released the captives one by one. After negotiations that lasted for a little over two weeks, the gunmen agreed to surrender to the law enforcement bodies. Three police officers were killed during this period.

According to lawyer Harutyun Baghdasaryan, Manukyan will undergo a second surgery on Friday.

Manukyan was admitted to hospital with gunshot wounds on both thighs, and a fracture on the right hip. He was operated on immediately.
