Jose Mourinho hails Mkhitaryan as 'multifunctional, fast and strong'

PanARMENIAN.Net - Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho in a recent interview with The Sunday Times hailed Henrikh Mkhitaryan as a multifunctional, fast and strong player, explaining why it was necessary to sign the Armenia international last season, The Sunday Times reports.

Mkhitaryan has been one of the stand out players so far, creating five Premier League goals to help United top the league and make millions of Fantasy Premier League players very happy in the process.

“When I arrived we were in need of some personality and quality that could give us a sense of a personality the club lost in the past years,” Mourinho said, according to The Sunday Times.

As well as Mkhitaryan, Paul Pogba, Eric Bailly and Zlatan Ibrahimovic were signed as he set about rebuilding a team capable of challenging for the game’s biggest prizes.

“Mikhi and Bailly had qualities I thought the team didn’t have. Mikhi took a little bit of time but the team was lacking a player with his multifunctionality in every attacking area. And a fast, strong central defender," he added, praising Bailly's personality.”

Ahead of the current season, Victor Lindelof, Nemanja Matic and Romelu Lukaku were signed.
