AZERBAIJAN UNDERWENT NEXT HARSH CRITICISM FROM PACE TRIBUNE

PanARMENIAN.Net - The report of Andreas Gross, the co-rapporteur of the monitoring committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, has harshly criticized the process of fulfilling the obligations undertaken by Azerbaijan while joining the Council of Europe, as well as the results of the referendum on constitutional reform held August 24. Addressing the session of PACE bureau in Luxembourg Gross mentioned the hasty holding of the referendum and absence of observers from influential international organizations including OSCE as the negative factors. At the same time, as reported by "Zerkalo" Baku newspaper, this month the results of work of a special subcommittee of the Council of Europe under the direction of George Clerfayt engaged with problems of political prisoners in the CE member states, including Azerbaijan, will be summed up. After the subcommittee report the Council of Europe will determine its position regarding Azerbaijan.
