Marcos Pizzelli undergoes successful knee surgery

PanARMENIAN.Net - Midfielder of the Kazakh club Aktobe, Brazilian-born Armenian footballer Marcos Pizzelli, who had suffered a cruciate ligament injury in the knee, was successfully operated on in Brazil.

The player underwent surgery in a clinic in São Paulo, the Kazakh club has revealed.

Pizzelli is expected to begin the process of rehabilitation. He was injured on October 16 in a match between the national Armenian team against that of Macedonia (4:0). He scored in the 12th minute left the field on a stretcher 10 minutes later.

Pizzelli was named Armenia’s best football player of 2018, captain of the Armenian national squad, Arsenal midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has come in second this year, while Jahn Regensburg striker Sargis Adamyan has landed the third spot.
