CSTO rapid reaction force to be formedFebruary 4, 2009 - 18:42 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A decision on formation of CSTO rapid reaction force was taken Wednesday during the extra meeting of the CSTO Council presided by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan in Moscow. The Armenian President described the decision as "an important move aiming to strengthen the military might of the Organization." The CSTO Secretary General and CSTO united headquarters were instructed to develop and submit a package of legal acts. The next meeting was scheduled for June 2009. Nikolay Bordyuzha was re-appointed as CSTO Secretary of States. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. Authorities said a total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive. Partner news |
