Muradov: 12 people transferred to Azerbaijan from Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - 12 people were transferred to Azerbaijan from Armenia on Monday, December 14, the commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh, Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov said in Yerevan, Sputnik Armenia reports.

"In accordance with the trilateral statement of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia dated November 9, 2020, an exchange of prisoners of war was carried out on the principle of “all for all”. [The swap] was preceded by a lot of preparatory work with the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides carried out by the Russian peacekeepers," Muradov said.

As a result, he said, 12 people were delivered to Baku on board a Russian military plane, while Azerbaijan returned 44 people to the Armenian side. Muradov noted that the Russian peacekeepers will continue to contribute to the implementation of the trilateral statement.

The group of Azeri POWs transferred to Baku included two saboteurs, Shahbaz Guliyev and Dilham Askerov, convicted for the murder of an Armenian minor and a soldier.
