Azerbaijan hiding some of Karabakh POWs, says Human Rights DefenderDecember 17, 2020 - 11:41 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijan is hiding some of the Armenian prisoners of war, Human Rights Defender of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Artak Beglaryan said in an interview with the Armenian Service of RFE/RL. Beglaryan said as many as 60 soldiers serving in Karabakh's southern military posts have gone missing, and they are most probably being held captive by the Azerbaijani troops. When asked about Azerbaijani media reports alleging that up to 160 servicemen have been captured, Beglaryan explained that Azerbaijan has hidden other Armenian POWs, and may now be publishing the entire number of captives they have. The first batch of 44 Armenian captives landed in Yerevan on December 14, in what authorities described as the first day of POW exchange. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said the process is ongoing. Top stories Six total incidents have burned 19 old-growth trees.
