State Minister Egemen Bagıs said Ankara has numerously proved its willingness to establish peaceful neighborly relations with Armenia. "Turkey intends to keep up this line and is hopeful for understanding between our nations. If not, we will make conclusions," he said, Hurriyet reports. Earlier, Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan said Turkey and Armenia are "close to reconciliation as never before." Turkey severed relations and closed the border with Armenia in 1993 as a token of solidarity with Azerbaijan on the Nagorno Karabakh issue. ![]() ![]() Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
