According to a statement from the President's office, the two discussed the situation in the country, and the ways to diffuse tensions. In this context, the President and the PM weighed in on possible snap parliamentary elections as a solution to the conflict. Also Saturday, Sarkissian will hold separate talks with the leaders of My Step and Bright Armenia parliamentary blocs. The meetings come after Sarkissian's office said the President's earlier invitation extended to the country's opposition and authorities for negotiations has become "unworkable at this stage".
