Russian peacekeepers clear agricultural fields from Uragan ammo

PanARMENIAN.Net - Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh have cleared agricultural fields from ammunition from Uragan multiple rocket launchers, the Russian Defense Ministry reports.

Specialists of the engineering subdivision of the Russian peacekeeping contingent traveled to the Martuni region of Nagorno-Karabakh to search for unexploded ordnance from the territory of Kherkhan settlement near the contact line, the Ministry said in a statement.

The work covered an area of more than 5 hectares, agricultural fields mainly, where about 30 different types of ammunition were discovered and disposed of, including artillery mines and shells, anti-tank grenades, grenade launchers, ammunition from multiple launch rocket systems.

The Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh have cleared some 25,154 explosive objects since their deployment in late 2020

As of July 20, the peacekeeping forces have cleared 2,195.5 hectares of terrain, 657.3 kilometers of roads, and 1,897 buildings, the Russian Defense Ministry added.
