Armenia runs out of hospital beds as Covid-19 cases keep soaring

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia has run out of hospital beds as the number of new Covid-19 infections keeps growing in the country, health authorities report.

A Ministry of Health representative said the situation is tense, hospitals are overcrowded, with 300 residents waiting for hospitalization across the country.

According to Romella Abovyan, the Head of the Infectious and Non-Infectious Diseases Epidemiology Department of the National Center for Disease Control, daily cases have increased by 50%, the rate of infection is higher than one, which means the infection is spreading very fast.

The number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Armenia grew by 1217 to reach 275,077 on October 13. So far, 250,576 people have recovered, 5646 have died from the coronavirus in the country, while 1231 others carrying the virus have died from other causes.
