Lavrov talks Karabakh conflict with Mirzoyan, Bayramov

PanARMENIAN.Net - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Monday, November 8, held separate telephone conversations with his Armenia and Azerbaijani counterparts, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov. The contacts came on the eve of the anniversary of the trilateral statement signed by the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan on a complete ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh.

According to a statement from the Armenian Foreign Ministry, Mirzoyan informed Lavrov that one civilian was killed and three others were injured by the Azerbaijani military while working in Karabakh on November 8.

The Armenian foreign police chief said the anti-Armenian rhetoric adopted by the Azerbaijani leadership, continued violations of the ceasefire are a serious threat to regional stability and security.

Besides the conflict, Lavrov and Mirzoyan also weighed in issues of Russian-Armenian allied relations, certain aspects of regional and international problems.

Lavrov and Bayramov discussed the settlement of the conflict and bilateral relations.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev on November 9 signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days. Under the deal, the Armenian side returned all the seven regions surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh, having lost a part of Karabakh itself in hostilities.
