Beijing: Armenia's Mikayel Mikayelyan finished 61st at men’s 15 km classic

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia's Mikayel Mikayelyan finished 61st among 95 athletes in men’s 15 km classic race at Beijing Winter Olympics. He had earlier finished 47th at men's 30km skiathlon.

The 23-year-old athlete is a multiple champion of Armenia, winner of international tournaments. Mikayelyan participated in the U-23 World Championship in 2021 alongside 71 participants from 30 countries and took the 8th place, showing Armenia's best result in skiing.

Finland's Iivo Niskanen, meanwhile, took control of the 15-kilometer cross-country race and proved his dominance in classic skiing. He was followed by Russia's Alexander Bolshunov.
