EU envoy briefed on humanitarian crisis in Karabakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan has briefed EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia Toivo Klaar about the humanitarian crisis and the security situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Grigoryan met with Klaar on Monday, March 14. The Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia Andrea Victorin, the Chief of Staff of the EU Special Representative, Political Adviser Bjorn Kunier, also attended the meeting.

The parties stressed the importance of a comprehensive settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict under the mandate of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs.

During the meeting, the sides also weighed in on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border situation and the steps taken to increase the level of border security and stability. In this context, the need to start the process of demarcation and demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border was stressed.
