Russia ready to further help Armenia boost defense capabilityAugust 29, 2022 - 16:28 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Russia is ready to continue to help Yerevan as a key ally in strengthening its defense capability and border security, as well as in regulating relations with its neighbors, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday, August 29. The statement was issued on the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between Armenia and Russia. The Russian Foreign Ministry said the agreement largely determines the principles and priorities of the Armenian-Russian interstate relations. It noted that the document has become an important milestone on the way to raising bilateral partnership to the level of a real alliance. “The past period has convincingly shown that the further strengthening of historical ties between Moscow and Yerevan fully meets the vital interests of our peoples, serves the socio-economic development of both countries, and the goals of strengthening stability in the South Caucasus. We are successfully moving forward in a wide range of cooperation, filling it with concrete content and increasing the effectiveness of interaction," the statement reads. "We are convinced that the path to stability in the region is the strict observance of the trilateral agreements of November 9, 2020, January 11 and November 26, 2021.
