Armenia investigating fresh footage showing torture of Armenian PoWs

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Ministry of Defense is investigating a new video showing the torture of Armenian prisoners of war by Azerbaijanis, Defense Ministry spokesperson Aram Torosyan has said, according to Yerkir.am.

The footage has been spreading on Telegram channels since October 11. The faces of the Azerbaijani servicemen are not visible in the video, most likely to prevent identification.

In footage published online on October 2, Azerbaijani troops are seen murdering several unarmed Armenian prisoners of war.

The latest round of fighting between the two countries began in the wee hours of September 13, when the Azerbaijani military attacked Armenian posts and shelled Armenian settlements both on the border and deep behind the frontline. More than 200 people are dead or missing as a result, the Security Council of Armenia said several days later.
