Artur Davtyan wins Gymnastics World Cup gold

PanARMENIAN.Net - Tokyo 2020 Olympic bronze medallist and reigning World champion Artur Davtyan of Armenia reigned supreme at the International Gymnastics Federation's World Cup in Cottbus, Germany on Sunday, February 26.

The event is the first stop of the 2023 World Cup season for artistic gymnastics, the International Olympic Committee says.

Davtyan performed a front handspring, double front half out with a stuck landing as his first vault, and his second run was a front handspring, two-and-a-half twist with a small hop. He earned a 15.133 to take the title.

Mahdi Olfati of the Islamic Republic of Iran was the silver medal winner at 14.933, followed by Hong Kong China's Shek Wai Hung at 14.733.
