CoE Sec-Gen calls for restoring movement along Karabakh corridor

PanARMENIAN.Net - Secretary General of the Council of Europe Marija Pejčinović Burić has reiterated the European Union’s call to restore free movement along the Lachin Corridor connecting Nagorno Karabakh to Armenia.

According to the Armenian delegation in the Council of Europe, Pejčinović Burić called for the implementation of interim measures ordered by the European Court of Human Rights.

The diplomat also expressed concern over the establishment of an Azerbaijani checkpoint on the Lachin corridor.

Azerbaijani authorities on Sunday set up a checkpoint on the only road connecting the Karabakh with Armenia. Baku also maintained that they have informed the command of the Russian peacekeepers and the Russian-Turkish monitoring center about the installment of the checkpoint.
