Defense Minister: Armenia has no claims to any country

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Republic of Armenia has no territorial claims to any country, Defense Minister Suren Papikyan said in an interview with the Public Television on Friday, February 2.

“The Republic of Armenia has no claims to any country, has no territorial claims and, naturally, the goal and mission of our Armed Forces is to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia,” the Defense Minister said.

Papikyan made the remarks when asked about his approach to the army’s mission, essentially repeating Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s idea expressed a day earlier.

In an interview with the Public Radio, Pashinyan noted that “the army’s mission should not be the restoration of historical justice but the protection the country's security.”
