Speaking early on Saturday, June 14, during an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council in New York, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi reported that the above-ground portion of an experimental fuel enrichment plant had been destroyed in an Israeli airstrike. Iran had been enriching uranium at this site to 60% purity (U‑235). Grossi further stated that the plant’s entire power infrastructure had been destroyed. This included the electric substation, the main power supply building, emergency power sources, and backup generators. He noted that this assessment was based on information provided by Iranian authorities and relayed to the agency. At the same time, Grossi said that current data indicates no visible damage to the underground cascade hall housing part of the experimental fuel enrichment setup, as well as the main enrichment installation. However, he cautioned: “However, the loss of power to the cascade hall may have damaged the centrifuges located there.” ![]() ![]() Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert.
