Aram I meets Pope Leo XIV  in Beirut

PanARMENIAN.Net - Catholicos Aram I of the Great House of Cilicia met with Pope Leo XIV during the latter’s visit to Lebanon. The meeting took place at the presidential palace, the Catholicosate of Cilicia reported.

Aram I also attended the mass celebrated by the Pope during his visit. No additional details were released.

During his trip to Lebanon, Pope Leo XIV met with leaders of various religious minorities, urging unity for the country’s recovery in the face of its war-torn past, political instability, and economic crisis.

Prior to Lebanon, Pope had visited Turkey, where he participated in a mass held at the Armenian Holy Mother of God Cathedral in Istanbul. During the liturgy, he sent greetings to Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II and the Armenian Apostolic community in Turkey.
