ACTIVATION OF SOUTH KOREAN COMPANIES EXPECTED IN ARMENIA SOON

PanARMENIAN.Net - In the near future the presence of South Korean companies in Armenia will become more active and negotiations about more serious trade cooperation between Armenia and Korea are already being held. "Samsung" company representative Kim Yang De stated it in the course of the interview given to the "Arminfo" agency correspondent. In his words, last year "Samsung" won the tender for acquisition of a small quantity of copper and molybdenum concentrates from the southern mining deposits of Armenia. "Samsung" is highly interested in acquisition of mining enterprises of the Republic. But in Kim Yang De's words, the negotiations on buying one of the molybdenum industrial complexes of Armenia have preliminary nature. Speaking of the further development of the Armenian-Korean trade relations Kim Yang De noted, that the Korean government had suggested the company to engage in Internet business in Armenia. Let us note that according to the data of the Republic of Armenia customs committee, the commodity turnover between the two countries made $332 thousand in 2001. South Korean goods import comprises its entire volume.
